METASPACE, a Korean provider of solutions for astronomy and space science, upgraded South Korea’s Daejeon Observatory to a new FP HDx4 projection system by Front Pictures.

The system runs on a Screenberry media server which controls and auto-aligns 4 х Full HD BenQ W1210ST projectors to provide 3K playback on a 9.5m dome. The new system works in parallel with an opto-mechanical starball Megasar NEO of Ohira Tech. It replaced the old ZEISS planetarium.

The Daejeon Observatory is unique in terms of its availability for the public. Its visitors can not only listen to lectures about astronomy, but also observe celestial bodies via telescopes. They can explore the sun during the day, and enjoy the beauty of planets, nebulae, and clusters of stars at night. With the installation of a digital projection system, the Daejeon Observatory has gotten new ways to deliver even brighter lectures and fulldome shows about our Universe.

METASPACE is Front Pictures’ exclusive partner in South Korea. It has been providing total solutions for astronomy and space science worldwide since 2003.
